Since my first visit, St Mary the Virgin has merged with the church of All Saints, Barling. As a result, regular services are no longer held at St Mary's - and as of April 2014, the interior of the church was undergoing a reordering. The original interior images have been retained below, to compare between the old and new ordering.

St Mary the Virgin, Little Wakering Church - The mural paintings in this photograph can be seen on the splays of the North window. They depict the nativity in the East and a Bishop, St Denys, of the West. They were restore by professor Tristam and must certainly date the foundation of this church as being earlier than 12th century.
